We celebrated with our fifth annual Christmas Eve candlelight service this year. Residents and staff remembered the Light of God that was born into the personhood of Jesus to bring all humans into relationship with God. We recounted the meaning of the four weeks of the season of Advent leading up to Christmas, symbolized in the four candles of the Advent Wreath. We then celebrated the lighting of the Christ candle as a symbol and reminder of the Light of God’s image in which we are all created. This beautiful service brings the meaning of the entire season to a point in which everything else becomes secondary or less when compared to what the birth of Jesus means for us all. May God bless your Christmas and may you hold the light of your own creation dear as you let it grow into the likeness of Christ in days, weeks, months, and years to come. That’s the greatest Christmas gift of all.
