Residents, Staff, Volunteers Honored for Achievements

Signature HealthCARE of Warren celebrated the achievements and contributions of resident Gerry DeSalvo, staff member Joyce Corsatea, and the community volunteers comprising Shiloh Ministry in an induction ceremony on November 2, 2017. The recipients were honored by induction into the Hall of Fame Café as well as the latest “Who’s Who” of the facility.

Gerry DeSalvo was inducted in the Hall of Fame for his tenure with the engineering department at Packard Electric Company and his years of teaching at Warren G. Harding High School. He was an all-city Youngstown basketball player in high school and kept his children active in scouting. He and his wife, Georgia, celebrated 53 years of marriage this past October.

Joyce Corsatea was inducted into the Hall of Fame with 41 years (and counting) of service in the facility’s kitchen. She goes over and above in her care for residents, support of fundraising activities, and teamwork among her coworkers.

Shiloh Ministry has been providing worship at the facility for almost five years, bi-monthly, with dependability and dedication. Members of the ministry are Debbie Minor, Brenda Culver, Sarah Shick, and Sue Bryan. Debbie’s husband, Larry Minor, initially began the ministry with her and now has a supporting role. The team continues coming because they love the people. Residents follow the team to the exit following worship, asking when they will be back next.

“Along with family and friends of the honored residents, we were honored to have community residents join in the celebration and recognition of these special achievements,” said Megan Laslo, LNHA, CEO and Administrator. “Signature Healthcare of Warren is proud to honor those residents who have helped build and shape their communities. We are also deeply grateful to Trumbull County Commissioner Daniel Polivka for visiting and offering such beautiful remarks.”
